Hot vulcanizing of conveyor belts
Joining the belt ends with controlled temperature, pressure and time, for high strength and structural continuity.

Hot vulcanizing is a technical process for joining the ends of conveyor belts through the controlled application of temperature, pressure and time, using dedicated vulcanizing equipment and materials compatible with the belt compound.
The service includes preparing the ends, stepping the plies or reinforcement elements, applying tie and cover rubber when specified, and assembling the splice according to the applicable technical procedure. The splice area then goes through the vulcanizing cycle defined for the materials used, bonding the layers and restoring the mechanical properties the system needs.
When performed correctly, hot vulcanizing provides high mechanical strength, good flexibility and structural continuity, and is recommended for industrial applications that demand operational reliability and performance under severe working conditions.
The final quality of the splice depends on correct surface preparation, material compatibility, control of the vulcanizing parameters and the technical qualification of the professionals doing the work.

Frequently asked questions
When is vulcanizing better than replacing the belt?
When the carcass (the plies) is still in good condition and the problem is limited to the splice or one section. In these cases a vulcanized splice usually costs much less than a new belt. If the carcass is damaged along the belt, replacement is the safer choice.
Why is hot vulcanizing recommended for heavy duty?
Because the joint is made with controlled temperature, pressure and time, giving high mechanical strength, good flexibility and structural continuity, with no fasteners. That makes it the best choice for severe industrial applications.
What information should I send for a quote?
Width, number of plies, cover thickness, belt type, material conveyed and the city of the equipment. Photos of the splice help a lot.
